DAVID STAHL: HEAD COACH

Stahl will return for his fourteenth year as head coach of
the Chico Rooks where he has compiled an overall record of 195–99–8. The Rooks
posted an impressive 20-5-1 record in 2004, winning the USASA National Cup
Championship. Stahl has led the Rooks to post season play every season, and in
1995, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 the Rooks advanced to the United States Open Cup
National Finals.
Stahl grew up in San Francisco and came to Chico State in 1973 where he
played four years for the Wildcats. In 1976, when the Wildcats advanced to the
NCAA Division II National Semi-Finals, Stahl was named MVP and nominated for
NCAA College Player of the Year. After being drafted out of college, Stahl
played two years in the North American Soccer League (NASL) then returned to
Chico to complete his MBA. Stahl holds a USSF National "A" coaching license and
directs the Chico Rooks camps and clinics.
