NPSL ANNOUNCES 2006 ALL-STARS

Two Chico Rooks Players Selected to Squad 

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) announced the 2006 All-Stars for the North West, South West and Mid West Divisions recognizing the best NPSL players as voted on by league coaches and managers.  Two Chico Rooks players were named to the All-Star squad, midfielder Calum Robertson and defender Anthony Putrus.  

Robertson, a six-year veteran with the Rooks, was named to the all-star team for the second consecutive year.  Prior joining the Rooks, Robertson was a NCAA First Team All-American at Fort Lewis College.

Putrus, a first year player for Chico, is a San Diego native.  Putrus had exceptional year with the Rooks playing both in the midfield and backline.  Following the NPSL season Putrus returned to Notre Dame College to complete his senior year of eligibility.

Sacramento Knights forward Anthony Chimenti was named the North West Division Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive year.  Chimenti led the Knights to the 2006 NPSL National Title with play-off victories over the Albuquerque Asylum |(3 –2) and the Princeton 56’ers (2 – 0).
