ROOKS HOST SACRAMENTO
KNIGHTS
Chico Looks to
Get Back on Track
The Chico Rooks will host their North Valley
rivals, the Sacrameto Knights, this Saturday night. In mid May the Rooks
battled the Knights to a 2 – 2 draw in Chico. The following night the Rooks were
winning 1 – 0 in Sacramento before two players were ejected on controversial
calls. The Rooks ended up losing the match 4 –1. “We have a great rivalry
withthe Knights,” aisd Rooks coach David Stahl, “our games are always hard
fought and entertaining.”
Chico hopes to
turn their fortunes around as they are 1 – 4 – 1 in their last six games.
“Unfortunately, we are a lot better team than our record indicates (5-6-5),”
said Stahl, “we have never played to our potential this year. There were a lot
of games we should have won and didn’t, especially early in the season.” Stahl
went on to add that numerous injuries have plagued the team the last three weeks.
Kick off is
scheduled for 7:30 at the soccer stadium on the Chico State campus.
