The Rooks
downed the visiting Redwood City Ruckus 3 – 1 in Chico on Saturday night.

run of play through most of the first half creating numerous scoring
opportunities. In the 38th minute on an indirect free kick from 12 yards out

began to tire as the game wore on. In the 65th minute the Ruckus equalized on
a corner kick that Sylvester Karr headed down to David Van Stockhausen who
rifled a shot into the upper right corner to knot the game at 1 - 1. Redwood
City had several chances to get the go ahead goal but Rooks keeper Nick Clark
denied the Ruckus with a couple solid saves for Chico.
With just four
minutes to play in regulation Orellana scored the game winner as he took a pass
from German Campos near the top of the box. Orellana proceeded beat two Ruckus
defenders before sending a knuckling shot past the Redwood City keeper from18
yards to make it 2 – 1. In the 90th minute Campos intercepted a pass, eluded a
couple defenders and volleyed a shot over the head of Byrns.
