CHICO ROOKS 2006 NPSL SCHEDULE
Kick-Off at Home Against Salinas Valley Samba on April
8th
The Chico Rooks enter their 14th
year as they will kick-off the 2006 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL)
regular season when they host the Salinas Valley Samba on Saturday, April 8th
at 7:30 at the CSU Soccer Stadium. The 2006 NPSL regular season will run from
April 8th through July 8th.
The Rooks will play in the six-team Northern
Conference of the NPSL Western Division that will include the Sacramento
Knights, Sonoma County Sol, Salinas Valley Samba, San Jose Frogs and the Redwood
City Ruckus. The six-team Southern Conference of the NPSL Western Division will
include the San Diego Pumitas, SD Fusion, Las Vegas Strikers, Phoenix Banat
Storm, Denver Kickers and the Albuquerque Asylum.
Each team in the NPSL Western Division will
play ten home and ten away games during the regular season. The top two
finishers in each conference will qualify for the NPSL Western Conference
Playoffs. The top seeded team in each conference will be awarded home games in
the semi-finals to be played on July 15th. The top seeded team that
advances to the Western Division Final will host the game to be played on July
22nd.
The NPSL Midwest Division Champion will then
host the NPSL Western Division Champion in the NPSL National Final to be held on
July 29th.
Two NPSL Western Division teams will also
qualify for the prestigious Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and the USASA Region IV
Championships. Each team will have three home and three away games that will
double as both US Open Cup qualifying games and regular season games. The Rooks
qualifying games are identified (#) on the schedule. In 2004 Chico advanced to
the US Open Cup round of 36 and won both the USASA Region IV Championship and
the USASA National Open Cup Championship in Orlando, Florida.
