The Team:
Chico Pro Soccer Inc. established the Chico ROOKS in 1993. Their goal is to provide the North Valley soccer community with the opportunity to play and enjoy soccer at the highest level. Over the last twelve years the Rooks have amassed an overall record of 187 wins, 91 losses, and four draws.  Chico advanced to post-season play every year and also earned a berth in the prestigious U.S. Open Cup six times.  In 2004 the Rooks won the USASA National Open Cup Championship in Orlando, Florida.

The League:
The Rooks are members of the newly formed National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The NPSL is the reorganization of the MPSL where the Rooks played the last two years.  The NPSL has expanded to the Midwest and plans on becoming a full-fledged national league in the 2006 seasons with an Eastern Division.

The Players:
The ROOKS have been successful in combining the local talent with players recruited from out of the area. The stability and success of the team coupled with great community support has allowed the ROOKS to attract talented players not only from all over Northern California but also from around the world.  For more information about our team, check out our Team Roster page.

The Stadium:
The Chico Rooks play all home games at University Stadium on the Chico State campus. The facility includes a soccer specific 75 yard by 120 yard stadium with a seating capacity of 4,000, lights, concessions and a full size practice field. Spectators will be 'right on top of the action' as the elevated bleachers are only 20 feet from the playing field. The Rooks have found a home having inked a 20 year licensing agreement with the University Foundation to use the soccer only facility.

Youth Programs:
The Chico ROOKS management and players run the most successful youth soccer camps in the North Valley. Summer camps average between 800 and 1,000 participants per year. This year the ROOKS Kick-In-For-Kids program will provide over 7,500 North Valley youth soccer players with free tickets to the Chico ROOKS home games. The objective of the program is to provide North Valley youth with a wholesome weekend activity, positive role models, and to encourage healthy activities. Home game tickets for North Valley youths are also provided through the popular ROOKS Healthy Life Challenge program. The program consist of ROOKS players and staff conducting over thirty (30) interactive assemblies at North Valley schools where they 'challenge' the students to live healthier lives.

Rooks F.C.:
In an effort to promote soccer on the youth in the North Valley, the Rooks are instituting the Chico Rooks Football Club.  The club emphasizes the development of the individual soccer player and sportsmanship on and off the field.

The Rooks FC will provide well-planned training sessions by licensed coaches designed for the appropriate age and ability level of the players.  The program will also develop a pool of high caliber licensed coaches who will receive continuing education, training, and evaluation.

The Rooks F.C. will enhance existing programs in the soccer community by providing year-round training.  These programs include the Off the Wall Soccer Academy, Butte United Soccer Club, The Chico-Cal Soccer Club and the Chico Rooks.

The main objective of the Rooks FC and the ProSoccer Foundation is to train local players to eventually play soccer at the college level or higher with the ultimate goal of having many of the Chico Rooks' players come from the program.

By providing a rich, positive soccer environment, the Rooks FC hopes that children who play soccer at the U-10 level will continue to play as adults.
