The Chico ROOKS welcome you to their website,
and hope you enjoy your visit. Come join us at the games!
The CHICO ROOKS, established in 1993, play in the reorganized Men's Premier
Soccer League (MPSL) now called the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
The NPSL is an expanded version of the old league, with the addition of a 6
team Midwest Division. The MPLS began with six teams in 2003, grew to
ten in 2004, and the NPSL now boasts fourteen teams.
This season the Western Division will include last year's teams Chico,
Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Salinas, Sacramento, and Sonoma, and new teams San
Diego Pumas and Pacific Red Devils. The Midwest Division fields the
Detroit Arsenal, Grand Rapids Alliance, Milwaukee Bavarians, Princeton
56'ers, Minnesota Blast, and the St. Paul Twin Stars.
The CHICO ROOKS previously played ten seasons in the United Soccer League where they posted an impressive 152-81-2 record, advancing to post-season play every year. The
CHICO ROOKS were a flagship franchise in the USL before moving to the MPSL
where they entered the playoffs in the league's two seasons.
Chico made it to the finals in the 2003 USASA National Open Cup Championship
match and returned to win the 2004 USASA National Cup in Orlando last August,
earning 3-1 victories in both the semi-finals and the finals.
No doubt this season will prove to be even more exciting and enjoyable
than last year's, especially considering the addition of new teams and the
rivalry that began last year with the Sacramento Knights.
For a fun filled evening of affordable, quality, family entertainment come and enjoy a CHICO ROOKS soccer game at
the new soccer-specific stadium on the Chico State campus!
Check out our 2005 NPSL schedule for our next home game and time.
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
